It may come as no surprise that the owner of this pitch perfect London pub is in the movie industry – everything about it looks and feels like the real thing. The curve of its leather-clad bar takes front and centre, with cosy, classy nooks at the back and downstairs; round mahogany tables and antique mirrors, raw brickwork, paisley velour upholstery all contribute the to its timeless feeling. But the food is bang up to scratch. Head here for a great Sunday roast: tender beef rump, crisp, melting pork belly or well-executed, moist chicken all come with huge puffed up Yorkshire puddings, an array of seasonal vegetables and crisp, velvety roast potatoes – and of course as much gravy as you like. A perfect way to kiss good bye to Sunday afternoon.
