194Local is one of those hip, meticulously curated vintage shops where you can easily lose track of time. They're so cool we don't even know how to put it in words. It has quickly become a staple in the East London fashion scene for offering high-quality, rare pieces from iconic designers.

The ultimate retro treasure trove. 2&4 Vintage is a mid-century modern store that sells carefully chosen and restored Danish and British furniture. Immerse yourself in some retail therapy in this kingdom of funky interiors and unique light installations located in Hackney. 

Before the food stalls arrived on Maltby Street, wine-importing business Gergovie Wines was quietly doing its thing, with a secret, stripped back kitchen and bar. There are still no reservations, and only high stool seating inside the railway arch, but the restaurant is now adored in foodie circles. The natural wine is sourced from small-scale producers and the chalkboard menu is made up of terrines and tarts, smoked trout and chicken schnitzels. This is where restaurant critics eat on their night off.

Part furniture store, part gallery, this edit of vintage and antique goods sourced from markets and dealers all over the world is impeccable. The merchandising is informal and non- hierarchical, so shoppers will find mid-century Italian furniture topped with colourful Mexican baskets. While the original is at 8 Holland Street in Kensington, this Westminster studio is now the flagship. There’s also a third gallery in Bath with three bedrooms upstairs to book. AIDA sets their focus on independent and sustainable brands in their multi-concept store in the heart of East London. They offer anything from fashion, accessories to specialty coffee in their in-store café to yoga classes. Definitely one of our go-to places in Shoreditch! 

Alex Eagle is the creative director behind stores for Soho House in Berlin, Soho Farmhouse and creative hub 180 The Strand. Her own boutique on Lexington Street stocks everything from hand-painted watering cans to green onyx side tables as well as her cult Alex Eagle Sporting Club stash – the cap of which went viral after Paul Mescal donned one. Artistically curated finds from a London tastemaker.

Spread across four floors in the centre of London town is the Alfies Antique Market. It is all too easy to whittle away the hours browsing the antique jewellery, furniture, fine art, art-deco collectables, furniture, ceramics, glass and so much more. Let the treasure hunt commence!

This bespoke tailor on Savile Row has become iconic to London's Mayfair streets. Having opened in 1906, it's safe to say the ready-to-wear menswear makes for the perfect smart get-up, and their tailoring services remain one of the best in London. 

Annie's Ibiza offers a curated selection of unique, handpicked fashion pieces from emerging designers, vintage collections and even some custom-made items! Their known for their playful and vibrant style, bringing the carefree spirit of Ibiza to the heart of London. It's our fave spot to shop when we have a big night planned!

Annie Doble had her own vintage stall at Spitalfields Market aged 15, and was just 20 when she opened a small studio in Ibiza’s Old Town. Kate Moss and Sienna Miller shop there for her one-of-a-kind vintage finds, while Zendaya and Dakota Johnson have both worn Annie’s eponymous collection, which started as a way to switch up deadstock and is often hand-stitched with intricate glass beadwork. A joyful dress-up shop.

Designer Anya Hindmarch’s village is a collection of joyful and evolving stores on the Pimlico side of Pont Street. There’s been a mesmerising stationery shop and a kitsch scuba store as well as annual installations including a magical Christmas grotto and an ice cream project serving mad flavours such as Heinz baked beans and Branston piccalilli. Year round, head to Anya Café for a shopping pit stop of playful Battenberg slices and googley-eyed cupcakes. 

Find the best flatbreads in town at this little stall on Ridley Road Market. Stock up on the blistered and soft naan-like bakes for the freezer, or order one for lunch with cheese, egg or keema-style meat. Simple, affordable and satisfying. 

The perfect curation of vintage items doesn't exist...or does it? Archive by Natalie comes pretty darn close. We cannot NOT enter this store without buying something. 

This bright sprawling space, situated on an unassuming corner in Fitzrovia, organises the most exclusive sample sales. Elbow your way through crowds of customers hoarding discounted A.P.C satchels or Toteme jackets for some seriously good finds. Just be sure to register on the website before you go.

If you're looking for some alterations and adjustments to be made on what could be that perfect item of clothing, head to Artesian Tailoring where Abdul and his team work their magic. 

We could argue that BDDW just might be America’s greatest export ever. This fabulous brand is dedicated to the creation of well-crafted, timeless furniture. Founder Tyler Hays began his career as a painter and sculptor, so it's no wonder that his designs move beyond simple craftsmanship and into the realm of high art.

No interior designer in the past decade has made as much of a mark on the London scene as Swedish-born Beata Heuman. Step into her world at 188 Hammersmith (a former ballroom dancing hall) to discover her artistry in the form of knotted brass knobs and lights shaped like dodo eggs, along with her easily identifiable wallpapers and fabric. It’s generally appointment- only, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for the open-house hours, which happen every couple of months.

Part bottle shop, part bar, this place puts a focus on small producers and family-run vineyards, showcased by a team obsessed with good wine. Corkage is free on Mondays and Tuesdays, but it’s a great one to know about on any night of the week as it manages to remain just under the radar in a very busy part of town.

Founded by furniture dealer Sophie Pearce, Béton Brut is a minimalist store and prop house that showcases the very best architect-led pieces from Europe and Japan. Though it’s named after a type of unfinished concrete, everything here is exquisitely thought through, with Pearce’s sculptural aesthetic channelled through a bouclé croissant sofa or a Frank Gehry cardboard chair. 

A queue often snakes out the door and past the dog bowl at this charming boulangerie-pâtisserie by Robin Birley (also behind Mayfair members’ club 5 Hertford Street). While east London’s bakeries have stripped everything back, in comparison this jewel box of a shop is completely over the top, with hand-painted murals on the walls. Grab a coffee and still-warm croissant or chilled madeleine and find a bench on Chelsea Green.

We just love this adorable children's shop (and so do the royals and celebrities, it seems!). It's the perfect place to outfit your nursery, as they have the loveliest selection of chic furniture and baby clothes.

Blue Mountain School is very much an interdisciplinary space. Perhaps at first glance almost impossible to narrow down what exactly this six floor, vast silver block designed by architects Christie Fels and James Brown is. Truth is, it's a little bit of everything. Find great exhibitions, fashion and design stores, and plenty of spots for a delicious lunch or dinner. 

Anyone who loves to cook will fall head over heels for this wonderful kitchen shop. They've got just about everything you could need or want when it comes to the stove, oven, pantry or fridge. Check out their Islington shop or head to the shop and cooking school at their Hampstead location.
