The gallery’s relationship with Gstaad began with seasonal shows at the Vieux Chalet and has since expanded through local collaborations and appointment‐only exhibitions. Past programmes, including Calder in the Alps, underline a thoughtful approach to context and place. Visits feel intimate rather than too formal, making it a quietly influential stop for those tracking contemporary and modern art beyond major city circuits.

A stone's throw from Gstaad is this wonderful restaurant. In this warm, intimate atmosphere we have eaten some of the best vongole pasta. A must visit! 

Only accessible by car, bike or bus, Lauenensee’s twin lakes sit above the valley in beautifully striking contrast to the pastureland below. Looping trails trace both basins, shifting between open views and shaded forest, with benches for well‐earned breaks. Summer brings paddling and picnics, while winter quiets the area into snowshoe terrain.

Inside The Alpina, Megu feels deliberately separate from the hotel. The low‐lit,dark‐wood room surrounds a long counter where sushi master Tsutomu Kugota and his knife‐wielding team plate up sliced sashimi, wagyu tataki, yellowtail carpaccio and miso aubergine with precision. Omakase is the way to go, backed by a serious sake selection (the country’s largest) and Japanese whiskies.

Founded in 1957, this private members’ club sits high on Wasserngrat with a glamorous reputation. The menu leans firmly Swiss, with fondue constantly bubbling on tables, while live music often drives a buzzy lunchtime scene. Long waitlists, strict fees and a roll call of royal and celebrity visitors reinforce its status as one of Gstaad’s most storied and sought-after dining rooms.

A members-only club above Eggli, reached via a six-minute private gondola created by Porsche Design Studio. Among Gstaad’s most exclusive lunch and après addresses, dishes arrive on keepsake blue-and-red plates by Themis Zouganeli. The dramatic chalet setting and sweeping mountain panoramas do much of the talking. Access is limited to members and waitlist guests, with reservations essential for those lucky enough to know someone inside.

Enjoy a lovely lunch on the terrace at Le Grand Chalet with beautiful views. We love sitting here and enjoying some great food in the sun to rest our legs from a long day of skiing or hiking. 

One of the Alps’ most technically advanced wellness spaces, Six Senses Spa blends salt‐stone rituals with high‐tech diagnostics and deep recovery treatments. Facilities span a dramatic salt grotto, large indoor pool, herbal steam rooms and Finnish saunas. Biologique Recherche facials are also a standout. It attracts committed and rather serious spa‐goers who plan sessions around ski days or hiking recovery.

Locanda Ottoemezzo is a rustic, cosy neighbourhood gem. They have been serving up delicious homemade pastas, focaccia sandwiches and classic Italian apéritifs since 1998, so they reeeally know what they're doing. Oh, and their award-winning dough is to die for!!
