Even on a rainy day, this green space, which spans the Borough of Camden and the City of Westminster, is a wonderful place for a stroll. There are stunning rose gardens, oodles of running trails and a zoo that Charles Darwin visited to study an orangutan named Jenny. Check out the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in summer for its award-winning performances in a magical setting. 

A former home turned into a rustic-chic boutique hotel. Come here to relax as it is a tech-free space, so simply enjoy the grounds and feel relaxed.

The debut restaurant from chef Thomas Straker was an instant hit, possibly due to the hype surrounding him – he made his name flavouring butter for millions of fans on TikTok and now has his own brand, All Things Butter. Flatbreads are topped with a burnt chilli mussel butter, partridge is deep-fried and ibérico pork neck is perfectly scorched. A Golborne Road star that lives up to the buzz.

With a chef from St. John and a multi-layered potato cake to rival The Quality Chop House, Saltine makes no secret about its inspiration. Founders Mat Appleton and Jess Blackstone are also behind north London mini coffee empire Fink’s. And while the exposed brick space is a little predictable, the genuine and charming staff maintain Saltine’s spot as a solid Highbury favourite.

The team behind Brat have thrown their hat in the central London ring with this Soho sequel. Like its Shoreditch sibling, it was quickly awarded a Michelin star for its barbecued British ingredients. The signature Welsh lobster caldereta is inspired by a braised Basque mountain-style dish with a nod to chef Tomos Parry’s hometown. Slightly moodier than Brat, with a menu full of comforting flavours, it’s a great choice on a winter evening when guests escape the cold for a Negroni in the basement ahead of supper.

Part of Soho’s modern wave of Sri Lankan restaurants (along with Hoppers and Kolamba), Paradise is now tasting-menu-only and a little more experimental than its contemporaries. The pol roti is puffed up over charcoal and topped with a glazed freshwater prawn and a zingy coconut sambol. A traditional meat curry is made with beef sirloin from Kent and served with a rich Kandy-style sunflower seed curry that’s poured at the table. Bold, innovative flavours that haven’t had as much hype as they deserve.

This taqueria has design just as good as its tacos. And it's tacos are ridiculously good...pop in for a hearty, homemade lunch and at the same time ogle at the ceramics, croquery, tiling, and artworks. 

Overlooking Regent’s Canal near London Fields, this is one of the coolest supper spots in the city. Chef Max Rocha (brother of designer Simone) cooks up sage and anchovy fritti followed by a decadent onglet in peppercorn sauce. The Guinness bread is as good as it’s said to be and you’re bound to see someone interesting here. Great people- watching, but an even better menu.
