Classic Chinatown – old-school tiles, small wooden tables and a low-key but lively energy. It’s been run by the same family for generations, and you can tell they take pride in keeping things traditional. The dim sum is legit – crispy dumplings, soft bao buns and those shrimp rolls you’ll dream about later. Go early to beat the crowd (it gets packed) and don’t skip the pot of tea. You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled onto a secret, even though it’s anything but.

In a sleek, gallery-like space, this independent label is a favourite for lovers of minimalist, sculptural cuts. Designed by Yara Flinn, the brand draws inspiration from architecture and workwear, translating them into pieces like tailored trousers, structured tops, and pieces that bridge masculine and feminine. Note the bohemian jewellery, including their semiprecious stone necklaces – all hand-beaded by Flinn, and their thoughtfully sourced accessories (Salomon sneakers, Mater soap, Loam candles, etc).   

November 19 has everything from vintage finds, accessories, homeware, and handcrafted clothing. Curated, and founded by designer Clark Chung you can bet you'll find something you didn't even know you needed. 

Nura is our go-to for New American-style food with a touch of Indian influences. Great for a good glass of wine with friends as you hunker down on their small plates.

This restaurant may be spenny, but it is absolutely worth it. Reservations at the farm (backyard)-to-table neighbourhood restaurant are difficult to snag, but the lucky few are sure to be well-rewarded.

Located in Koreatown, Osamil is a modern Korean gastropub with a large menu filled with amazing dishes. Head here with a group and share everything so you get to taste as much as possible. 

Outline offers a curated selection of cutting-edge fashion. Their thoughtfully chosen pieces showcase contemporary style and creativity, making it a haven for fashion-forward enthusiasts.

Mezcal or tequila cocktail in hand, settle down at Oxomoco and be prepared to be wowed. From the tacos to the tostadas, freshly grilled veg and fish is piled on top and laden with salsas, sauces, and so much flavour. Oxomoco leaves you feeling well and truly content!

Another venture from Paul Sevigny, Paul's Cocktail Lounge is seriously chic, so put on your Sunday best. This nightclub is the perfect place to dance until the wee hours.

Peacefood Downtown is not your typical crunchy vegan spot. Instead, this great little plant-based restaurant is a cosy, chic spot for the best the earth has to offer.
