Voltaire (the resident corgi) may seem like the main draw at Candle Kids, though that's before a sip of the house speciality: a creamy brewed latte made with mountain honey from Savoie, the hometown of the power-duo owners and brother, Martin and Ernest Laurens. With the help of Studio Ebur, they transformed this corner-hugging spot into an immaculately designed oasis; stone columns are left bare, an oak-stool pair accompanies the zinc-topped bar and glass-box dessert case, and light streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The door is left open, allowing the gentle chatter from the outside benches to filter through to the expansive, open-plan interiors. Inside is a clutter of tables reserved for laptop users on weekdays, though the remainder are filled with neighbourhood locals tucking into the fresh bake of the day. 

Casa Bini in Paris transports its guests on a culinary journey to Italy. A charming and casual bistro with an Italian soul, it serves up authentic flavours with a menu that changes on the daily. 

Quite possibly one of the liveliest, chicest spots in the 19th and a beloved French restaurant to the young Parisians in Belleville! The grill takes central stage here as silver platters of sizzling meats, flaky fish and charred veg come served to your table doused in all sorts of big and hearty flavors. The concept? Depending on your level of hunger, the chef will rustle up a menu to suit your tastebuds...now how about that. 

One of Paris' most cozy wine bars. We love their list of natural wines and amazing food options. Tip: do not skip out on the desserts! 

Chanceux is changing the breakfast game in Paris. They have good coffee (unheard of here), delicious sandwiches, and fresh juices. 

We'd wager a bet that this shop needs absolutely no introduction. This chic women's brand is synonymous with elegant French fashion, and their flagship is a haven for enthusiasts. 

A tasting menu to behold: Masafumi Nomoto's dishes have left us eager for more, and utterly bewildered at the magnificence of it all. Black cod marinated with miso, oysters in a vin jaune, and yakitori await!

When you're in Paris, there are thousands and thousands of hotels, but not all of them are worth a visit. Parisian insider boutique hotel Chateau Voltaire is la creme de la creme.

Modern bistro with extremely delicious & interesting small Asian dishes and beautiful natural wines. Your best bet is to order the entire menu and stay for hours. 

A legendary  shop serving the best sandwiches and galettes in town. We adore this popular spot for good, tasty reasons. 

If you catch your reflection in one of the mirror-lined walls of Chez Georges once, we can bet you'll be ogling them again and again and again. One trip here, and it's a confirmed instant classic. Great bistro-style dishes, friendly staff (for Paris anyway!). Parfait!

A lively, classic neighbourhood bistro that is always a joy. Order the most memorable and dangerously yummy mousse au chocolat. 

Chez L'Ami Jean in Paris is a carnivore's delight, an authentic bistro dishing out hearty French classics. Perfect for a friends' gathering, especially if you're not a vegetarian or on a diet. Don't miss their signature rice pudding.

There is no shortage of fine dining hotspots in Paris, but if you want something infinitely cosier then we strongly suggest you head to Cibus. 

The menu & interiors here are as fashionable as the clientele (& trust us they are chic). Seafood & vegetables are the name of the game here so expect something light & delicious. 

Cloche is the epitome of classic French bistro charm, offering a delectable menu of "old-fashioned" staples. From leeks soaked in their classic vinaigrette, to tarragon-glazed deboned chicken, the flavours here are exquisite.

Named after the nearby Place du Combat, this cool cocktail bar is the perfect place to sling back a cocktail or two by bartender Elise Drouet. We particularly like it for dates, if you're in the market. 

You can detect wisps of traditional French cuisine here, but there is nothing stodgy about this elegant & chic fine dining spot. Tip: order the chocolate soufflé!

Beans from Barcelona-based roaster, Nomad, are the base of that perfect café latte at Cortado on Rue Charlot. A bustle of activity from open to close, the Marais folk gather on this dinky street to sip and natter – and knit come a Tuesday evening. Pastry chef, and former Beaux-Arts student, Zoé Souchar is on the sweet treats but come the afternoon and the tapas rolls in; don't miss a taste of its iconic pan con tomate.
