the gloobles gift guide

the gloobles gift guide
November 2023
WORDS Hayley Daen

If we’re honest, the main things on our wish list this holiday season are trips, trips, trips. We’ve got a veritable laundry list of places we want to visit in 2024 (and a flotilla of people we’d like to travel with), but we realise we also have to be a bit practical. As much as we love our family and friends, not everyone can get a two-week safari for Christmas.

We’ve rounded up a nice little list of all the things we’re coveting now. From the chicest suitcase – one that you’ll never mistake for someone else’s on the luggage belt – to the perfect eye mask that’ll transform any hotel into a five-star situation, we’ve got it all.

YVRA

Our friend Yvo van Regteren Altena is not just a jack of all trades but truly a master. When he’s not weaving captivating stories or dishing on what’s chic and what’s not on his podcast, Snobcast, he’s crafting deliriously good scents for his brand YVRA. We find it tough to pick just one of his perfumes, so this year, we’ll be gifting his five-scent sample set.

Good lighting is essential no matter the time of year. Because in the wrong light, those undereye bags (thank you, holiday parties) are positively ghoulish. Luckily, our friend Sabine Marcelis has dreamt up lights that are beautiful and cast a flattering glow. Win-win!

There are many we love, but we’re particularly tickled by the Royal Academy, West Bund, The Met, the Rijksmuseum, Sursock Museum and Louvre Abu Dhabi.
