A pillowey, perfectly chewy crust, a generous ladle of tomato and topped with the finest buffalo mozzarella; there's a reason this spot holds the only Neopolitan-approved Associazione in Scotland. 

When The Palmerston is not baking their ever-so buttery croissants, it's knocking out some stellar dinners accompanied, serving great wines and pulling the perfect pint of local ale. This spot stole our hearts after the first bite of its pie and buttered cabbage for two, though, really, the whole menu is a thing to behold. 

Nishiki brings the lively spirit of a Japanese izakaya to Edinburgh’s West End. The menu is built for sharing: onsen eggs in dashi, takoyaki, crispy gyoza, sushi and skewers, alongside bowls of noodles and punchy small plates. Drinks are a big part of the picture too, with saké, Japanese whisky and matcha-based treats on offer. Inside, a calm Japandi-style interior – light wood, lanterns and communal tables – sets the tone for relaxed, sociable dining.

With so much to try one visit to Yamato is simply not enough. This intimate dining experience serves authentic Japanese cuisine and perhaps some of the best sushi in Edinburgh.
