Great pubs abound in London, but one we love very dearly is the Duke of Cambridge in Islington. It's got delicious organic food, natural wine and craft beer carefully sourced from independent producers.

A pared-back pub just off Regent’s Canal that has fast become a neighbourhood favourite with chef-led cooking and a sharp natural wine list. Inside, it's all pale woods and banquette booths that set the mood for dishes like smoked haddock and creamed leeks on toast or quail shish with pul biber. Local brews are on tap, and everything from the seafood to the sourdough is mindfully sourced. Nab a corner table for lunch that turns, easily and often, into a second bottle.

Cosy, charming and with coffee that can't be beat, The Rugged Bunch is our go-to place to caffeinate in Clerkenwell. Even if you're not in the 'hood, it's worth making the journey.

Known as "The Bar with No Name". Also referred to as the bar with great live music. Or even the bar that's the best place to start (and end!) your night.
