Casa TAOS is one of our favourite spots for a healthy brekky and a gloriously brewed coffee. If you're passing by for lunch the salads are also a must. You can even treat yourself to a midday vino!
Fridges are practically overspilling with funky-labelled wine bottles and skin contact inventintions. So while we love heading to Masa Vins to get our drink buds tingling, we can also never resist a bite or two to eat. From decadent pistachio sundaes sprinkled with candied pistachios and molten chocolate to the savoury pumpkin gnocchi served with garlic emulsion and blocks of parmesan. There's good reason this living-room spot is chock-a-block from open to close.
Not only is the Mercat dels Encants located in a building that all architecture aficionadas will admire, it is also home to one of the largest flea markets in Barcelona. Bring a few bags and have your hunting goggles at the ready, there's treasures to find!
Don’t let the overly cool crowd behind the draped curtains put you off. Otsu brings a calm Japanese twist to the Catalan capital, with minimalist interiors and wooden trays loaded with rice bowls topped with shaved bonito fish and coffee broth, kimchi and egg sandos, and a jujube date matcha latte that’s worth the trip alone. The daily pastry selection is another reason to come, displayed like edible art on a vast white marble table dotted with candles and frehsly cut flowers.
Orval Studio is a book store come café spot, which also happens to host some of the cities best-kept flea markets. The coffee is great, the matcha even tastier, and the selection of magazines and journals to browse through almost overwhelming (in the very best of ways)!
