An hour away from Megève, tucked away on the shores of Lake Annecy is the Auberge du Père Bise. Charming and ever-so idyllic; sleep, dine and relax at this dreamy spot. To say the setting is incomparable is an understatement...
On the white shores of Lake Annecy, Abbaye de Talloires occupies a former Benedictine abbey with a history that stretches back nearly a thousand years. Today, the landmark building houses 37 rooms and suites, many overlooking the lake, the cloister, or the gardens. Even if you're not staying overnight, it's worth stopping by for lunch on the lakeside terrace, a glass of wine from its award-winning cellar, or simply to soak up the atmosphere of one of Annecy's most storied addresses.
One of our favourite lunch spots around Lake Annecy, Aquarama sits right on the water in Angon, complete with its own pontoon for those arriving by boat. Expect a crowd-pleasing menu of sea bream ceviche, vitello tonnato, truffle pizzas, and generous plates made for sharing.
Petit Paradis serves dinner right on the shore of Lake Annecy at Angon beach, mountains rising straight across the water. Claire and Xavier took over the address at the end of 2025, continuing exactly what Xavier built here over the past decade: veal chop roasted over the outdoor fire, market vegetables, the lake's own féra and arctic char. Ask for the table at the end of the private pontoon, set right over the water among the swans, though it can't be booked and goes to whoever arrives first after 7pm.
A fixture on Lake Annecy since the Belle Époque, Palace de Menthon is set within six hectares of lakeside gardens in Menthon-Saint-Bernard, including a private beach, marina, spa, and sweeping views across the lake towards the Alps. Come for a lunch on the terrace or check into one of the 66 rooms and suites and make a weekend of it.
