WORDS Marilise de Buck

With Saint Patrick's Day coming up, all eyes are on Ireland. This often liquid-fuelled day is filled with parades, good luck charms and all things green. What better way to celebrate the luck o' the Irish than hunkering down at a charming pub?

Celebrate the holiday or simply polish off a Guinness or two at some of the best pubs in town.

Luker's

Luker's
Luker's

Perched on the banks of the River Shannon, quirky, charming Luker's is kind of our dream when it comes to pubs. Live music and regulars who've seemingly been glued to the bar stools for years make it the sort of place you'd like to make your "local".

The Merchant's Arch always has live music playing, but it's still a lovely, accessible pub for everyone. It's the perfect quite spot for good drinks and great conversation.

SMITHFIELD & STONEYBATTER

The Cobblestone in Stoneybatter is everything you want in a pub. Think: a local crowd and musician gatherings like back in the day. This laid-back, friendly pub is built on family tradition and respect for music & culture.

Dublin by Pub

Frank Ryan's is a super funky pub that also happens to serve seriously good pizza. The pizza is unexpectedly delicious, and the interiors are super cool.

Although extremely popular, this place is well worth the hype. Housed in an old church (surprise, surprise!), The Church Café Bar is exactly where we want to throw back a pint or two. We also love that they have live music and dancing every evening.

Fidelity Bar

Fidelity Bar
Karen Hernandez

Fidelity Bar is a must-visit in Dublin. They have the coolest rotating taps, great cocktails (if you're after something a little more complicated than a beer) and amazing music. While relatively new to the pub scene, Fidelity has an ambience so charming it'll certainly cement its place in Dublin's pub scene.
