It doesn't get a whole lot more local than it does at Mavros Gatos. It's cosy, intimate, and wonderfully stripped of any frills. Head here for a good time, and some delicious Greek food: calling all meat eaters, the lamb is sensational. 

A museum designed by architect I.M. Pei, with works by artists including Picasso, Monet & Degas. The Goulandris Foundation is a must visit in the Pagkrati neighborhood. 

Head to Foyer Espresso Bar for delicious specialty coffee, and while you are here, get a fresh-baked good (they are ah-mazing). 

A museum dedicated to all things Cycladic, from artifacts to sculptures. They also have kid-friendly activities, a win for parents!
