A lively neighbourhood joint co-founded by the Three Sheets guys, with a short bistro menu and lots of natural wine. The online Shop Cuvee, born during the pandemic, is still the best destination for the prettiest bottle gifts, but head to the restaurant to chat to friendly staff who will happily guide you through the largely French wine list. Take their pick and then get stuck into plates of charcuterie, pickles and bread.

The design space of Naples native Gennaro Leone is by appointment only. It’s an Italian-leaning showroom-come-prop hire destination with a constantly changing collection of classics, one-off cork lamps and marble consoles. Just off Hackney Downs, the showroom also makes a cool party venue.

Find the best flatbreads in town at this little stall on Ridley Road Market. Stock up on the blistered and soft naan-like bakes for the freezer, or order one for lunch with cheese, egg or keema-style meat. Simple, affordable and satisfying. 

This is a spot that comes up in every foodie Londoner’s little black book. As a result, it might seem surprisingly simple – there isn't even the option to book - but that is its joy. Best for a brunch of winter tomatoes on sourdough followed by olive oil cake, with views of runners, dogs and cyclists navigating the canal-side path. Open from March to November, it’s particularly glorious on a sunny day.
