Home to the largest collection of Uruguayan artworks, the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales pays homage to the likes of Olga Pirira, Joaquín Torres García, and José Cúneo. Built within the Parque Rodó, take a walk in the park before beholding the beautiful curated exhibitions; the temporary exhibitions are also well-worth checking out. 

From sweet to savory, lunch or afternoon tea, Philomene Café is a cosy, little spot in Punta Carretas. Specialising in the European classics, think croque monsieur, cheese and chive scones, and home baked carrot cake, this is a true feel-good spot.

Two of our favourite things, cooking and books, are artfully merged at Escaramuza. Tucked away amongst the quiet streets of the Cordón neighbourhood, call in to this bookstore-café for a bite to eat, and a browse of their rows and aisles of books.
