La Preferida is a classic Peruvian spot that serves national seafood dishes and the best Butifarra. The Butifarra is up there with the Pan con chicharrón, they both have their place in heaven. It’s a pork (curated ham) sandwich with salsa criolla (onion, lime and chilli) served in pan francés, a round baguette. It’s one Peruvian delight and La Preferida knows how to do them best. However, if you aren’t in the mood for something “taipá” (a filling meal) you can go for scallops, seasoned with many heavenly sauces and to drink, of course, their classic chicha morada. 

Tucked in a Miraflores basement, this speakeasy bar has earned buzz for sharp cocktails and its suave founder, Diego Macedo. Walk into a tailor shop, where you will be welcomed by many tuxes in progress, pins, needles and measuring tapes. Inside, sip to a live salsa band and a menu inspired by Peru’s rich textiles. Try the Kené, an East India-style cocktail with Amazon citrus, cacao mucilage, and macambo bitters. Ask about the secret second bar if you're planning something private.

Cosme is known for its modern take on traditional Peruvian cuisine. Colorful and vibrant, this hip spot is perfect for lunch or dinner in San Isidro, the upscale district of the capital. While this gem is laid back and cool, it is always packed, so make sure to make a reservation. We recommend trying their glorious Arroz Cosme and for dessert, Coulant de Lúcuma. 

Picnic Club is a comfy but elegant new spot in San Isidro. It has a wonderful bar, excellent service and an impeccable menu. If you go for cocktails and are a devotee of pineapple, go for their signature piña colada. If you go for dinner or lunch and you love seafood, don’t miss out on their Arroz Marino... and if you go for either a full meal or just coffee and dessert, you must order their pillow soft french toast topped with the juiciest berries.
