If you are looking for a simple and delicious lunch, grab a sandwich at Compliments Only. Every sandwich is made fresh in front of you and they are HUGE so make sure to go with an appetite. Our favourite is the famous crunchy boi, with potato chips crunched in between.

In a townhouse in Dupont Circle, The Phillips Collection, established in 1921, feels more like stepping into someone’s home (well, you are) and if that someone also casually owned a Renoir, a few Rothkos, and some Georgia O’Keeffes. The Rothko Room, designed by the artist himself, remains a hushed must-see. There’s a quiet radicalism to the curation: intimate, unexpected, with modern masters (from Impressionism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism) alongside contemporary newcomers. It’s America’s first modern art museum, too.
