With views of Loch Linnhe, and nestled in the Morvern mountains we can safely say that the setting of Airds Hotel is more than idyllic. There is luxury, and then there is Aldourie Castle Estate. Amidst 500 acres of gardens, meadows, and greenhouses, stands Aldourie Castle. With such a grand exterior, the rooms are remarkably less austere; instead, they are homely and comfortable. Our highlight is The Boathouse: carved in the shape of a boat's hull, watch the sunset over Loch Ness. It's magical. 

We may sound like a broken record when we say that the Isle of Eriska is one of the most iconically beautiful spots we've been to, but it truly is. Located on a private island a few miles from Oban, this hotel showcases an unspoilt, wild landscape at its best. Countrycore at its finest, this is not a place you should overlook. 

Scottish architecture meets Scandinavian design, and boy what a combination. Lundies House is created more in line with a home than a hotel. After a hearty breakfast, set off for a day's adventure – pack lunch in hand. This is a place that should be on top of your bucket list. 

Approaching Mingary Castle is a deep dive into wilderness. Settled upon a promontory on the West Coast of Ardnamurchan, this is a place rarely explored though romantically picturestuque. The rooms are idyllic, the restaurant even more so. Using the produce harvested locally at the West Ardnamurchan Community Garden, the tastes are just exquisite. 

Born from another restoration project under Manuela and Iwan Wirth, you know that The Fife Arms will be an experience. Indeed, the former hunter-lodging, whilst preserving Scottish traditionalism is whacky and utterly unique in a way that it simulates a gigantic art installation. Dining at the Clunie Restaurant for a wood-fired Sunday roast is an absolute must. 

The Fortingall is the very first hotel from Anbôise – the interiors brand known for its curated mix of handmade furniture, contemporary accessories, art and antiques.
