There's not a day that goes by, come rain or shine, that there isn't a queue outside the door of Mary's Milk Bar. It's here that homemade gelato and chocolate is made fresh every morning. A quest to try each of the flavors proves difficult since the menu changes daily, though the pistachio is always a safe bet. And if the goat's cheese & jammy figs happens to make an appearance, run don't walk. 

With so much to try one visit to Yamato is simply not enough. This intimate dining experience serves authentic Japanese cuisine and perhaps some of the best sushi in Edinburgh. 

Founded in 1984 by Annie and Lachie Stewart, ANTA is known for reworking traditional textiles – tartans, tweeds and herringbones – into contemporary interiors. Inside the calm flagship shop you’ll find hand-painted Highland stoneware, wool throws, flatweave carpets and furniture, all inspired by Scotland’s landscapes and made with natural materials by skilled artisans.

Vermeer, Degas, Velázquez, Rembrandt, the list of classical masters on show is endless. Naturally, we're always drawn to their equally impressive collection of Scottish artists, think Henry Raeburn, The Glasgow Boys and William McTaggart.
