What better than a post-culture pint. Pop on by The Royal Dick for a drink or two, and hope that the sun will be out so you can settle down in the courtyard. The perfect summer routine!
Late night grooves, lectures, craft markets, ceilidh clubs and performances; Summerhall has it all. To top that all off you can grab a coffee from the MF Coffee Shop for that oat cappuccino and an afternoon pick-me-up.
Sometimes you do just need that ice-cold pint from a traditional British pub. The Dagda Bar is an old-school classic; it may not be fancy, nor are there any frills though that's why we love it.
Pomelo is an adorable Chinese restaurant that serves savoury comfort foods. They shine at both, brunch and dinner but the menus are different and constantly changing, so you might as well go for both meals. For brunch, we suggest going for one of their bestsellers: hand-ripped noodles with garlic, chilli and beef or their spectacular crispy chicken sandwich with kimchi. However, their entrees will make you smile and want to take 15 portions home. Their insanely creative cocktails and desserts will capture your attention and appetite too! To try everything (which is a fabulous plan) you must go in a group (their portions are super generous)
A former newsagents now converted to a homely cooking studio which hosts seasonal cookery courses, pop-up dinner parties, markets and creative collaborations, is forever our source of inspiration. On the days that food writer and stylist, Jess Elliott Dennison is bustling around her studio, pop by to browse the Scottish-made jams, pickles and honeys on the shelves, or the scrumptiously delightful ceramics. The phrase "home away from home" has never felt more apt.
