Parisian art dealer Almine Rech’s Grosvenor Hill space opened with a Jeff Koons exhibition. And while she may now be married to Pablo Picasso’s grandson, the art world influence is entirely her own. With a speciality in minimalist perceptual pieces, Rech also represents “master of light” James Turrell and the otherworldly work of John McCracken. A gallery at the cutting edge of the commercial scene.

Housed within the infamous childhood home of Elizabeth II, Lilibet’s pays homage to British royalty in the Russell Sage Studio-revamped interiors of 17 Bruton Street. Marquetry tables are adorned with built-in antique panels, sofa seating is upholstered with woven horsehair panels, and Richard Taylor-made lamps fill the space with a golden glow. The food also doesn’t miss; British classics are fused with Mediterranean flavours in experimental seafood-led dishes.   

Competing with big names such as David Zwirner and Hauser & Wirth, Ordovas is a smaller gallery with shows that are just as highly respected. Exhibitions here often look at two artists in unison, for example Francis Bacon and Andy Warhol or Annibale Carracci and Lucian Freud. A commercial gallery with a museum-quality exhibition programme.

Set within a five-storey Georgian townhouse, stepping into Offer Waterman feels uncannily like walking into your quintessential London dream house. A beautiful space paired with an astonishing collection of artworks, the temporary exhibitions on show are just exquisite.
