This topsy turvy cocktail bar oozes old-world charm and encourages a little chaos. It's over the top and even a bit twee but in the very best way possible.

The vast bay window of this gallery at the top of Dover Street stops passers-by in their tracks. Run by German duo Monika Sprüth and Philomene Magers, the space also displays arresting art. Exhibitions have included Barbara Kruger’s bold images emblazoned with text such as “Your body is a battleground” and Jenny Holzer’s granite bench and LED installations.

Set within a Georgian Mayfair townhouse, Maison Estelle is designed to be homely - or as homely as one of the most luxurious, and exclusive members's club can be. Dine, drink, and dance in style. 

Some of the splashiest Sotheby’s London sales have included Banksy’s Girl with Balloon, which began to pass through a shredder hidden in the frame as soon as it had been sold; and Gustav Klimt’s Lady with a Fan, which fetched more than £85 million. For those not bidding, the lobby restaurant is a charming spot for lunch, with diners discussing deals over Caesar salads and beetroot-cured salmon.
