Don't Tell Dad is a neighbourhood haunt that seems to have perfected the art of pretty much everything. Bakery by day, open kitchen and bar by night, this sibling-led venture is a top-notch spot. The artichoke, sage and lancashire pain suisse rivals the buttery, crispy croissants found only in France, though it's the dinner menu that has us tantalised. 

A miniature coffee shop that serves West Hampstead’s trio of train stations. There’s a focus on a sustainable supply chain and the beans are roasted in house. Locals happily queue for silken piccolos poured into cups with sweet pastel-coloured figures by Brooklyn illustrator Tomi Um. A sunny caffeine hit.
