Pop by 107 Wine Shop & Bar for some glasses of low-intervention, natural tipples. Though when chef in residence, Julie Hetyei is in the kitchen staying for dinner is a no-brainer. Her menus change regularly, though expect a dozen or so French-influenced dishes and some ridiculously good puds. 

Chesham Arms is a cosy traditional pub saved by its loving local community. It is known to be a splendid place to indulge in excellent beers in its outdoor garden during the golden hour. Simple and laidback, they turn on the fire during winter and serve Pizzas from their neighbor pizzeria. 

By day, Paper Dress Vintage is an 80s and 90s-curated clothing store; by night, it transforms into a laid-back version of Studio 54. Groove among knee-high boots with a fruity drink in hand, and meet some stylish signorinas as you sway to the beats of their live performances. 

Inspired by chef Peppe Belvedere’s Sardinian heritage, dishes here celebrate the sea. Raw scallops with a broad bean vinaigrette, perhaps, or fregola with cockles and tomato; and on the wood-fired grill there’s John Dory and Dover sole, served with deep-red radicchio salads. From the outside it looks like a retro caff but the wood-panelled dining room in the back is stylishly understated. A sunny Sardinian secret.
