The Scolt Head gastropub serves an elite and incredibly authentic Sunday Roast. Visit this gem in East London during a weekend to unwind and enjoy a classic dish with a beer on their sunny terrace or head here during winter for a cosy evening with live music. 

We find that pizza beyond the borders of Naples (let alone outside Italy’s glorious boot) is rarely up to snuff, but Sweet Thursday is here to prove us wrong. This, er, sweet little spot churns out great Neapolitan pizzas from their charming outpost in De Beauvoir town. On your way out, you can grab a bottle of organic Italian wine to-go. 

Dan’s is a wine, beer and spirits boutique and bar. Head to this place at sunset time and rejoice in their array of wines with nibbles like tinned fish, Perilla olives and seriously good Sourdough bread. A candlelit room, experimental music and cool people in East London will never disappoint. 

This compact Dalston bar run by brothers Noel and Max Venning is an industry favourite. All cocktails are presented beautifully – often with fruit peel frozen in the giant cubes of ice. The powder-pink grapefruit Paloma is finished with a couple of Fragata pimiento olives and a dash of the spicy brine. Proper cocktails with an extra flourish.
