One of the key commercial galleries in London, this imposing townhouse space delivers exhibitions ranging from Josef Albers’ modernist classicism to wittily observed cartoons by Rose Wylie. There’s also an in-house podcast with a series of conversations unpacking the nuances of style and intentionality in art. Everything David Zwirner does is thoughtful and therefore thought-provoking.

London’s oldest luxury hotel is one of the city’s most storied. Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde and Agatha Christie have all stayed the night in this 11-townhouse-wide property – now papered in a flourish of botanical prints by Olga Polizzi. Downstairs, Charlie’s restaurant dishes up dressed Dorset crab and white asparagus by chef Adam Byatt of Clapham’s adored Trinity. An elegant, exuberant Mayfair stay with all the trimmings.

For some of the finest shaken cocktails you can find head straight to The Donovan Bar. Artfully created by Salvatore Calabrese and Frederico Pavan, the choice is overwhelmingly good. And if there's a spot to get slightly experimental with your order, it's for sure here. 

Within the luxurious Brown's Hotel is Charlie's, a restaurant that would happily become our Sunday Roast staple, or are date-night treat for a sample of their crisp cornish crab salad, or stalwarts venison en croute. With a separate caviar menu, expect great things from the Michelin-starred chef, Adam Byatt who rules this very fine roost.
