This gorgeous cafe right by the Dom is a perfect pitstop during a day exploring. There’s mismatched furniture, family photos on the wall, and huge slices of decadent cake. Everything is vegan, though you wouldn’t know it. Insiders pick up the verloren brood – a mix of the day before’s leftover cakes – we promise it won’t disappoint. 

The perfect background for a multitude of occasions Bar Bet works for everything from a post-office glass of wine on the terrace to an all-out tasting menu dinner. Start with a selection of perfectly smoked olives, Dutch cheese, and paté with chunks of bright green pistachios dotted throughout. And then stay for the bavette with little gem lettuce, capers, and parmesan – you’ll thank us later.   

Cosy up on the sofa in winter and in the summer grab your favourite coffee, iced, and head for the bench outside. The Village has a well-established fan base and many of the people popping in for their morning brew or afternoon pick-me-up know each other giving it a very warm, community feel.

The team is incredibly welcoming and plates are filled with sardines doused in olive oil with romesco and buttery brioche, and roast chicken with crispy skin and tangy kimchi on the side.
