This wonderful museum in the heart of Rotterdam opened in 1992 and has been hosting a rotating series of terrific temporary exhibitions ever since. We just love the architectural design by the famous Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.
On a lot of the postcards you see of Rotterdam is this mirrored dome, also known as the Depot of the Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. It's easy to understand why the building has became an architectural icon, but even more so when you go inside. It's a remarkable feast for your eyes.
We adore this arts institute for exhibitions, lectures and excellent presentations of research on architectural design and digital culture.
There's something about this place that makes us never want to leave and we're putting it down to the calming atmosphere, the aesthetic decoration, and the irresistibly good breakfasts you can enjoy at the café. Whether you're in Rotterdam for just a night or for a weekend, either way we guarantee you'll want to extend your stay at the Hotel âme.
A go-to for sourdough lovers. Centrally located, Bas Bakt sits just off the bustle of Witte de Withstraat. A favourite among locals, it serves not only delicious morning pastries, but also a vast selection of natural wines and sandwiches come lunchtime. Our tip: don’t miss the pastrami croissant, which makes a great brunch.
