Many workouts these days try to replicate the club feel, but Booty Club takes things one step further by hosting their bum-focused high intensity classes in Jimmy Woo and other clubs across the city.

Originally founded in San Francisco, CORE40 brought its cult-favourite workout concept to Amsterdam, and locals have been embracing the burn ever since. Need a break from canal-side wandering? Swap stroopwafels for a Megaformer session. This high-intensity, low-impact workout combines strength, cardio, and core training into 40 gloriously challenging minutes. Expect shaking legs, a serious endorphin rush, and the smug satisfaction of having earned your next pastry.

Set among the creative studios  and converted industrial spaces that define the neighbourhood, this light-filled outpost of CORE40 brings rows of Megaformers, floor-to-ceiling windows, and 40 minutes of controlled movements to the neighbourhood. Fortunately, Noord's excellent coffee scene is never far away for a well-deserved recovery afterwards.

Between the stained-glass windows, lofty ceilings, and post-workout endorphins, this another of  Zuid's atmospheric workout studios. These days, so many yoga studios are more about crunches and getting a sweat on than practicing true yoga. Thankfully not De Nieuwe Yogaschool! Grab a coffee in the garden and give the studio kitty, Isabella, a scratch behind the ears after class.

Founded by former dancer and movement specialist Margherita Bencini, this boutique studio swaps fitness fads for a science-backed approach that combines Pilates, functional training, and biomechanics. The focus here isn't on lifting heavier or sweating more, but on moving smarter. You'll leave feeling stronger, more aligned, and perhaps just a little smug about your posture.

A cold plunge a day! That's made all the more easy if Kuuma Sauna is just a cycle away. With a few locations dotted in the city and beyond, it's about time to sauna and 'Iceman' the Nordic way. 

Even on the rainiest of Amsterdam days, a trip to Movements Studio will have you feeling hot and sweaty. With the rooms reaching a steamy 40 degrees, this workout isn't for the fainthearted. 

This (sometimes) sunny park in Amsterdam’s hip Oost neighbourhood has recently been revamped, & we barely recognise it. In a good way, of course! Pack up a picnic with provisions from the Marqt on the Linnaeusstraat & spend the afternoon people-watching before heading off to explore the ‘hood. If it’s a particularly steamy day, take a dip in the paddling pool or lounge under one of the park’s many leafy trees to catch the breeze.

This gorgeous park in Oost meanders gently over 7 acres of beautiful land. Back in the 1700s, the park was actually part of a wealthy estate, with gardens designed by landscape architect J.T.P. Bijhouwer, in the middle of Watergraafsmeer. Known as the art and culture garden, Park Frankendael is a real draw because of its cultural-historical, ecological & botanical elements. De Pure Markt!

Looking for the perfect spot in Amsterdam to take your kids? Head to Playhood, an indoor creative and educational amusement center. You can truly feel the passion and love that the owners put into this place, as everything is incredibly well designed and implemented. Enjoy kiddos, and parents ;).

Even if you already feel like you spend all your time glued to your bicycle seat here in Amsterdam, we strongly urge you to book a class at Rocycle. This boutique fitness studio brings you an energetic 45-minute full-body workout that is truly a party on a bike. Once you’ve sweated & cycled your heart out, you can pick up a smoothie or juice around the corner at Juice Brothers.

If you’ve flipped through this book a bit, you likely noticed quite a few cool, boutique fitness studios. While we don’t want to spoil you for choice, we wanted to slip another in the list because we think it’s really something special. Saints & Stars is not only a killer 50-minute boxing workout but also one of the chicest gyms we’ve ever seen. We dare you not to snap an Instagram!

With all the eating and drinking you’re likely doing when you’re in Amsterdam, we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to work up a little sweat. Sometimes, we love participating in group classes where we can play off of the energy of others, but other times, we prefer to get our heart rates going in a more intimate setting. That’s when we head to Soda Bodyfit, a personal training studio run by celebrity trainer Radmilo Soda.
