If you’ve got a bike, then the 15-minute ride from city centre out to Park Frankendael is more than worth it. This restaurant is housed in a grand home & also boasts a sunny terrace in a romantic garden. The chef focuses on the Slow Food Movement, churning out dishes with authentic, sustainably-produced, regional & seasonal ingredients. Be sure to come hungry.

Many Amsterdam-based high cuisine restaurants are fused with a chic, casual cool and though de Kas does the same, it still takes the essence of fine dining eating seriously. Its philosophy, 'harvested in the morning, on your plate in the afternoon', captures the freshness of the ingredients. Fruits, herbs, and vegetables from the gardens in Amsterdam and the Beemster are at the core of the daily-changing, tasting menu. As one of the first farm-to-fork restaurants, this greenhouse dining experience is superb.

In the mood for some seriously good coffee? Head to Wakuli to satisfy all of those caffeine cravings. Don't be afraid to ask about the beans of the day, the baristas are always more than happy to talk all about the various blends on offer and send you home with a bag of the freshest grinds. 

Located on the corner of Newtonstraat, MAS is a neighbourhood café and sourdough bakery known for its artisanal breads and glorious seasonal Danish pastries (think orange curd with cranberry compote or honey and poached pears), all made using local ingredients.  Open from Wednesday to Saturday, it has recently expanded with its own Atelier location on Pretoriusstraat, a larger space that allows the team to further showcase their craft baking and buttery creations.
