Raymond Plat (you may remember him from 212), Niels Leijssenaar, Roderick Kunst and Willem Alberts have teamed up to create what will surely become an Amsterdam institution on par with Rijsel, De Kas or Buffet van Odette. The menu is a la carte – a bit of a rarity with the city’s best restaurants these days – and focusses on French-ish dishes with a meander into Mediterranean flavours every now and again.

It's easy to fly right past Bottleshop on your bike and never notice it’s there. But that, my friend, would be a serious shame. This refined, minimalist wine bar is sleek but still charming and has a fantastic menu of natural wines from around the world. Come by for a great bottle and some inventive small plates.

This beautiful old building was originally designed in the 20s for the Theosophical Society of The Netherlands. These days, it serves as an arts and culture house and is the perfect spot to have a drink and dance.

When the sun is shining, this city is always overflowing with people. On roofs. In parks. On terraces.
