As you might have noticed, you definitely won’t struggle to find a lovely place to tuck in at night in the Grachtengordel. This sophisticated, privately-owned boutique hotel is spread across 25 gorgeously restored 17th & 18th century canal houses. Its central location in the heart of the buzzing Negen Straatjes makes it an ideal jumping off point for a day of culture or shopping. We can’t resist an afternoon drink in the garden courtyard in summer, & also adore booking onto the hotel’s boat for a cruise around the canals.

This diminutive bakery is easy to miss if you're zipping through the Negen Straatjes, but it's certainly worth a stop if you find yourself hungry mid-shopping spree. If the sun's out, we love nothing more than sinking our teeth into one of their cinnamon buns while getting as much of a tan as we can in the Dutch sun!
