This stunning building gracefully situated on the Amstel is home to the world renowned Dutch National Opera & Dutch National Ballet. You can, of course, find age old classics performed here, but we’re particularly enchanted by their unique, progressive productions. Though a lot of Amsterdam’s museums are clustered together in the Museumkwartier, one of our go-to spots for soaking up culture is just across the Magere Brug. Thanks to partnerships with the British Mseum, Centre Pompidou and Smithsonian American Art Museum, H'ART has a dizzying rotation of stellar exhibitions that come through the museum. This stunning all-glass café is nestled snugly in the back garden of Amsterdam’s Hermitage Museum. After an hour or two in the museum, we love settling in for a relaxed lunch or a coffee. They’ve got wonderful fresh, healthy salads & sandwiches, all featuring vegetables from their own garden.  It’s also one of our top spots for a luxurious weekend brunch.
