Chef Ed Delling-Williams' Le Grand Bain is steeped in industrial charm. With an authentic atmosphere and equally as authentic menu of small dishes, it is a given that this is the best for tapas in Paris!
Le Grand Bain's pastry shop, Le Petit Grain is committed to quality, low waste, and affordability. One of our favourite croissants in the city!
With its humble exterior Le Café des Delices merges into the beige, more rugged Belleville establishments. The red tiles remain, though now, the terracotta flooring dazzles and the zinc-plated bar sparkles. Édouard Lax - also owner of beloved Boulangerie Le Petit Grain and bistro Le Grain Bain - is the man behind it. Catch the morning sun and settle into one of the maroon and cream wicker chairs scattered across the terrace and join the locals in ordering un café allongé with take-out viennoiseries in tow. Come lunch, the dish of the day varies from buckwheat arancini bursting with gorgonzola, candied pork cheek to the classic moules frites. A few Negroni’s down the line and we’re settling in for the small, sharing plates on the evening menu as the vinyl jam booms on the DJ decks.
A hip wine bar with an impressive selection of wines and beers. We love heading here with friends to share a bottle of wine, snag a table outside and spend the night chatting and drinking away.
Plates to share and maceration wines, you know the drill. It's another neighborhood spot, though one of Belleville's most treasured spots for giddy, good food. There's a constantly, shifting menu, though if you're lucky you'll be able to get your hands on L'Orillon's octopus doused in a rich coconut, vinegar and brown butter broth and chunks of perfectly roasted sweet potato. Food aside, you have an abundant list of natural wines, Deck & Donohue beer and UMÀ stills to cleanse those taste buds.
