Inside a classic Haussmannian building on Rue Washington are interiors by British designer Anouska Hempel. The former British actress is known for her work on Blakes Hotel in London, but we prefer her Parisian stamp on things. That is, the stacks of fashion tomes in reception, the antique mirrored walls, Indian lanterns and dark velvet chairs. The best rooms have Eiffel Tower views, but even those without have a romantic feel. Unusually for a city-centre spot, there’s a full spa (complete with hammam and sauna).
