At the very heart of Copenhagen's historical centre, The Darling, is a design-forward guest house spread across three single residences. Jens Løkke and Uffe Buchard, the founders of DANSK Magazine and Darling Creative Studio,  have created a space that is as much a welcoming place to stay as it is a private art gallery. Tuning in to Danish designers, artists, and creatives, expect statement furniture (for example, an earthy-toned Børge Mogensen Spokeback sofa offset by the golden glow of a Louis Poulsen PH 5/4½ white-painted aluminum lamp) and an art collection that shifts with the seasons, from Peter Ravn's anonymous, figurative paintings to Sophie Dupont's iron works. The highlight? The custom slippers are made-to-order upon arrival.

This pottery studio triples up as a workshop, café, and ceramic boutique. With three locations throughout Denmark (the other spots found in Odense and Aarhus) the Copenhagen branch straddles two floors of its canal-centered location. On the ground floor, the café and shop are free, creative zones; the tables are strewn with clay, templates and "do it yourself" flyers, the walls lined with pots and ceramics, matcha packets, and guidebooks.
