Its a three hour commitment though it is utterly worth it. A 15km route from Fitzroy North to Fawkner, it's hard to imagine you're just that close to the centre. 

Within the light and airy, industrial space that is Haydens is a vast, ever-rotating amount of temporary exhibitions. Showcasing everything from sculpture, textiles, drawing, painting and photography; Haydens is a haven for contemporary art. 

Another fantastic gallery to add to Melbourne's bustling art scene. ReadingRoom is a must when in Northcote, but also absolutely worth a trip out. 

Head to Uncle Joe's for a whole dose of Brunswick East cool. Serving glass after glass of wine, they know their stuff, that's a given.
