The oak-lined interiors, copper details, open fireplaces and huge windows open up to the tree-nestled luxury of Island House. A place surrounded by palms, lawns, fruit trees and gardens, where the open kitchen becomes a community hub and where the decorations are meticulously planned. Expect to find magazines and books lining the shelves, ceramics and trinkets in every nook and cranny and a carefully curated art collection. 

In this seaside inn there are only five suites – a cute spot for tuning into Aussie surf culture – and each one is kitted out with a sweet kitchenette, ideal for cooking from a pre- ordered pantry box stuffed with local goods and ingredients.

Serving up the bay's best brunch for over a decade, you can expect all the staples; a great shakshuka, crushed avo on sourdough or a warming bowl of poached pear oats. That's not to say however, that there isn't the odd surprise on the menu!

This iconic Byron Bay spot is a retreat-cum-spa-cum-restaurant which exemplifies that Aussie beachfront bliss. A stay here ultimately means a feast at the Raes Dining Room, and if that's not a good enough reason we don't know what is.
