An intimate contemporary art museum designed by Tadao Ando with permanent artworks by Claude Monet and James Turrell. The building is a work of art in itself. 

This museum is a collaboration project between acclaimed artist Lee Ufan and architect Tadao Ando. It is a place where art, architecture, and nature merge. Located in a valley, surrounded by the ocean and hills, pinch us please. 

The latest addition to Naoshima's art destination status is the brutalist-style Naoshima New Museum of Art, which is dedicated to contemporary works by Asian artists and designed by celebrated Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Found on a hilltop near the Honmura District and as the first museum to share the island's name, it's a space created to connect art, architecture, nature and community.
