The menu changes regularly, with drip coffees highlighting different regions and processes, alongside espresso-based options. The counter is the best place to sit if space allows. We love their espresso tonics, and cheesecake or hazelnut cornbread cake for a not-to-sweet afternoon treat. Late afternoon tends to be quieter, making it an ideal time to stop in. 

21 years later and the former garage kiosk, now jazz cocktail bar, Chez Quasimodo, remains a Kyoto classic. Wooden antique furniture is offset by low-strung, golden-glow light fixtures and a burning open stove as jazz music plays on the records. Behind the bar, the bartenders shake old-school martinis and whisky-based concoctions. There's no menu, so trust the experience.
