While it is a little out of town, that is exactly the reason why you should come here. Your stay at moksa will be an experience like no other, feel more and more relaxed as your stay goes on. Enjoy the sauna & spa, and the nature that surrounds you.
Just a few doors down from Keibunsha and close to Ichijoji’s Eizan railway line which takes you up the mountain to Kurama, this is a beautifully curated and very photogenic space selling a range of mainly French and Japanese antiques and furniture. Each item seems to tell a story and it’s a wonderful place to pick up a piece of aesthetically pleasing Japanese or European history.
A cosy coffee shop with speciality pour overs and great cake selections made daily by the owners wife. It’s peaceful yet there is always a steady flow of customers. The interiors are particularly appealing- high ceilings and an almost modernist/ mid century feel. They have a no laptop policy so come here to unwind and simply enjoy a cup of warming coffee.
Be careful eating sashimi at sell fish because you will never want it from anywhere else again. This fish shop has some of the freshest of the sea.
Imagine a restaurant where only the freshest ingredients are handpicked from the nearby mountains and entire menus are created around them, that is Sojiki Nakahigashi. One of the hardest reservations to get in Kyoto, we truly suggest trying because this meal will be unforgettable.
