This lovely Zen Buddhist temple is most notable for its fantastic rock garden and shimmering pond, making it the perfect place to find a moment of calm within the busy city life of Kyoto. 

This breathtaking hotel set in a secret garden and is surrounded by more than 32 hectares of dense forests. While it is pricey, if you can even get a one night stay here, it will be well worth your money. 

A beautiful temple to visit, especially in the morning when the light hits just right. What makes Daitoku-ji unique is its Christian background, look for the small cross located in one of the gardens. A must visit is the “garden of solitary sitting,” if you are lucky you will be one of the only ones there to truly take it all in. 

This tiny but lovely atelier by Ko Kado is well worth a visit. With beautiful and intricate stationery using original printing blocks the decoration paper is simply stunning. A master of his crafts, call into this studio simply to admire and marvel at his works.
