This lovely temple is one of the city's greatest Zen structures. With wonderful mountain views and surrounded by a serene landscape garden, this is the place to retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 

Despite having four restaurants, by no means has Kyoto Kitcho become less of a unique experience. With three Michelin stars under its belt, this spot may just possibly be the most gorgeous, luxurious restaurant in Kyoto. 

% Arabica is some of the best coffee you can get in Kyoto. Head to this superb location overlooking the Hozu-gawa River just upstream from the Togetsu-kyo Bridge. Take your coffee up to the riverside and enjoy it while watching the boats float by. 

A sweet little coffee shop in a fantastically converted bathhouse from the Taisho era. One of our favourite spots for a perfectly brewed coffee or a light lunch.
