A French-accented retreat in Franschhoek, reveals itself as a food-focused double act, spread over two South African estates, including a vineyard, orchards and lavender-flecked gardens, plus a few surprises in between.

Known for being Africa's oldest commercial art gallery, Everard Read spotlights modern and contemporary painting and sculpture from South Africa and the diaspora. Its Franschhoek locations (on Huguenot Road, and a more recent space in the Leeu Estates) offer a more up close and personal way to engage with the programme, operating by appointment only. Keeping a dynamic turn of shows and artists, the gallery strives to expose a huge range of fine contemporary painting and sculpture to a broad audience.

With a menu inspired by the vibrant ingredients of French cuisine, this stylish restaurant combines bold flavours, elegant presentations, and impeccable service to create an unforgettable dining experience.
