Maha Alavi

live like a local in
Tokyo Toronto London

Working between Tokyo, London, and wherever her process takes her, Maha Alavi approaches design as both inquiry and object. Her practice centres on artisanal metalwork – sculptural bronze hardware, furniture, and homeware shaped by hand. Trained in philosophy and psychology, she considers how objects sit within space, informed by shifting light, seasonality, and material. Produced in small batches with a family-run foundry in India, her cast metal pieces feel enduring and tactile, designed as future heirlooms.
