Nestled in the hills of Inverness, the Blunk House – a redwood cabin built entirely by his hand from salvaged wood and local river rocks – is the preserved home and studio of late California artist J.B. Blunk, celebrated for his organic wood sculptures and handmade interiors. Tours are by appointment only as it remains the house of Blunk's daughter Mariah,  but if you miss it, you can check out the nearby Blunk Space in Point Reyes Station – a gallery dedicated to his legacy hosting rotating shows of contemporary artists in dialogue with his work.

A little ways away from San Francisco but M. H. Bread and Butter is the place to stop if you are heading out of town for the day. Start your morning with an iced latte and a breakfast sandwich before roaming the area. 

Or as the locals say, Mt Tam. This beautiful and scenic drive is a must do while you are in Mill Valley for the day. Bring your dinner to the top right before sunset and park along the road before you get out and admire the view. Bring a picnic blanket and watch the sun go down under the rolling hills and ocean, you will feel like you are in heaven.
