Though you must hop on down on a Sunday and Monday for BG NITES (where beer and wine flows, live jazz plays, and terrific food is served), Bub and Grandma's is most renowned for it's sweet treats, toasts and killer sandwiches.

Though you may not at first think you can find a Rembrandt, a Degas, or a Picasso (to name only a few) along a LA boulevard consider yourself mistaken. For the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena is home to  one of the world's most remarkable private collections of old master paintings.

Showing that the sandwich can indeed be the main event is Wax Paper where the likes of braised carrots, whipped herb feta, pecan pesto and frisée or shredded chicken with a garam masala slaw, yogurt raita, and ginger chutney are stuffed into crispy ciabattas.
