The Tate Britain on Millbank houses the world’s greatest collection of Turners – probably the UK’s best-loved artist. It’s also home to the annual Turner Prize. Prepare to spend a few hours gawking at all its treasures.
The Garden Museum Café is, as the name suggests, the museum cafe of Britain's only museum dedicated to the art, history and design of gardens. Naturally, the Dan Pearson Studio-designed terrace of the museum is a dazzling vision. Occupying both the courtyard and the glass extension of the museum is the cafe, headed by Myles Donaldson (previously at St. John Bread & Wine and the acclaimed Noble Rot). Here, the dishes served are an array of delectable delights. Grilled mullet, artichokes and Kalamata olives, asparagus topped with whipped ricotta and anchovies, to a terrine of pork, prune and pistachio - this is a lunch worth feasting on.
Italo is one of our favourite spots in the city: pop in for a sandwich for a quick but delicious lunch, have a lazy brunch at the weekend or, if you're lucky grab a seat at one of their supper clubs. Though dining at their kitchen is a must, swing by the deli for some of the finest charcuterie and cheeses.
A. Wong has been on diners' minds (and in diners' bellies) for over a decade. This popular modern Chinese restaurant has delicious dim sum and two Michelin stars to boot.
Formative founder Ian Kissick moved to London to study computer science but quickly found his calling in coffee. While he’s objectively one of the best in the business (in 2023 he was crowned UK Barista Champion), he does everything he can to keep his craft simple for his customers. There’s a choice of just two coffees: A (medium to high bitterness, ideal with milk) or B (a sweeter option suited to espressos). A great address to know if you’re looking for a good coffee around Victoria.
