In a renovated townhouse run by husband-and-wife team Ian Paley and Emily Dyson is a cool concept store with an eye for independent brands. Inside, find Ian’s cult vintage- inspired menswear label Garbstore (collaborations have included Reebokx Garbstore trainers), as well as womenswear from YMC and handmade lamps by Shiraki Kougei. A space that celebrates everything from Japanese ingenuity to British textile tradition.

One of London’s oldest cinemas, the Electric has survived two world wars, a bombing and a fire. It was also saved from being turned into a bingo hall in the 1980s following an outpouring of local support. These days, it’s been beautifully restored by the Soho House group. Standard seating is made up of leather armchairs with footstools, and in the front row there are double day beds where film fans can cosy up under cashmere blankets. The most extravagant cinema experience in town.

By now we all know and love the Portobello Road Market. It's countless appearances in movies (Hello Notting Hill!) has led it to be one of the most popular vintage and antique markets in London. Stroll on down and shop away. 

Since Jefferson Ihenacho started selling his collection on Portobello market in the 1990s, his One of a Kind Archive has become the go-to for stars such as Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss. He once received a call from Lady Gaga at 10pm asking him to come to the Albert Hall to dress her that night. The shop, which is appointment-only, is a treasure trove of Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Yves Saint Laurent. One of the best stocked archives in the city.
