Locanda Ottoemezzo is a rustic, cosy neighbourhood gem. They have been serving up delicious homemade pastas, focaccia sandwiches and classic Italian apéritifs since 1998, so they reeeally know what they're doing. Oh, and their award-winning dough is to die for!! 

Min Jiang is an authentic Chinese restaurant located on the 10th floor of the Royal Garden Hotel with extraordinary views over Hyde Park and the city skyline. Order the excellent dim sum and their signature Peking duck.

Exhibitions here take in Japanese culture from all angles. There could be replica bowls of noodles and plates of sushi that look good enough to eat or bright Pop Art designs painted straight on to the walls. Either way, restaurant Akira upstairs serves beautiful bento boxes and the shop is packed with gift ideas – from animal- topped Legami pens to edamame-shaped chopstick rests. Keep your eyes peeled for designer Paul Smith who visits regularly for inspiration.
